Even with the Super Bowl in our neck of the woods this year, most of us will be watching it from our living rooms.  The cheap seats at the Super Bowl are $2,827 and the super luxury suites are over $300,000.  In fact, the average attendee of a Super Bowl is a 37 year old male who is an executive making $222,318.

So, here are a few suggestions of places to watch the Super Bowl, have a good time and not spend $300,000:

Places to Watch the Game

Doc’s Backyard or Doc’s Motorworks – Specials all day Sunday, reservations are suggested.

Sixth Street – No shortage of places to watch the game and no shortages of drink and munchies specials in honor of the big game.

The Tavern – With 50 high def tvs there isn’t a bad seat in the house.

The Best Seat in the House

Your own sofa is a pretty good place to enjoy the game with friends and family.  According to a Mint.com survey, the vast majority of people stay home to watch the Super Bowl.  Make a big bowl of guacamole and watch the showdown between the Steelers and the Packers.

Classic Guacamole from Cooking Light

  • 1 1/2  tablespoons  coarsely chopped red onion
  • 1  tablespoon  fresh lime juice
  • 1/8  teaspoon  salt
  • 1  garlic clove
  • 1/2  small jalapeño pepper
  • 1-2  ripe peeled avocados
  • 1  tablespoon  cilantro leaves 

Mix everything together in a bowl or food processor.
